Human Resource Organization Design and DevelopmentThe five Human Resource specialists will each specialize in their own branch and report directly to the HR Director. As Motors and More grows, each branch of the human resource department will grow. As the company grows, more HR employees will join the HR team and report to the different specialists based off the needs of the company. The entry level staff will be trained in all aspects of Human Resources to ensure versatility. In the beginning, Recruitment will need a fair amount of manpower to help find the right talent. When there is a less of a need for hiring the lower level HR staff can be moved to other parts of the department. Recruiting will follow, but without a handbook to offer prospective new hires, there is no defining information for them to follow and understand the values of your company.” [For17]Interns play a strong role with Motors and More. The HR Director can work with the local community college to provide internship programs for students considering a career in Human Resources.The interns will have job opportunities after graduation with a company they are familiar with and come onboard with experience. “If you have enough foresight, you can groom interns and later choose the most promising ones to help you meet needs and overcome obstacles that your company has yet to encounter.” [Spi10] Each branch of the HR department will have multiple positions opening as the company grows. To save on expenses Motors and More should be patient in the hiring process of the HR team. After the Recruitment team is brought on first they can help handle the roles of the Compensation and Benefits team. Employee Relations, Training and Development, and Health and Safety should be ran by one or two HR specialists until all the production staff is hired. As the new staff is hired the HR departmentcan continue to fill their needs. The HR Director needs to have a plan, but also be able to adapt to change. The HR team has much to establish and accomplish without interfering with the company’s production needs and goals. Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe HR Director will be overall responsible for the human resource department while reporting to the President and Vice President of the organization. “Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.” [Mon18]The HR specialists will all report to the Director.
