The United States has always had the mentality of believing that they knew what was the right thing for the poor, which other developed nations did not know about. This belief they had is that they knew was other countries needed and they will going to assist with this end to communism. The United States thought that they knew was all of these smaller countries had wanted and they were going to give it to them regardless of if they wanted it or not. When Castro came to power in Cuba he was embracing the policy of Communism and he wasn’t so far from America’s continental shores. While the communists were threatening in countries across the globe, they were now close to the United States.
