Respond to the Selection 1b) When he hears the conversation between Cassio and Iago, Othello misunderstood the “her” that Cassio is talking about which is Bianca. As a result, it angers him to hear Cassio talk about Desdemona of how he loves her. The tension increases as Bianca came in with the handkerchief and Othello saw that Cassio is holding it. As a result, Othello is firing in rage and want Cassio to be murdered. Othello mentioned that his heart “turned to stone” and he wants Cassio be murdered in three days and Othello will kill Desdemona. 4b) As Iago planted the “green – eyed monster” mentally in Othello, madness and revenge occupied Othello’s mind which drives him towards his fall. Othello change from being noble and patience to being vengeful and jealous. From that change, his only motivation is to get rid of Cassio and his “whore” wife Desdemona for it angers him that he is jealous for the relationship that only Iago made up. 5b) With what we saw about Cassio and Bianca in Act IV, we see a sense of intimacy between the two even though Bianca is not part of the nobility and she is just a commoner or more specific a prostitute.
