For the most part, the PEA Act falls short of what people expect and what is needed in an Act that improves higher education, focuses on equity, and protects learners. Rather than pursue this option, the committee needs to work collectively to draft a legislation that supports historically underserved students, simplifies access to financial aid, protects student borrowers, and makes access to student funding equitable for all learners.
