Domestic violence needs to be viewed as a social concern rather than an individual or family issue. The family is a sub-system that should be functioning together as a unit. When one part of the sub system is not functioning, the other parts will be affected. The family is considered as the most important part of any social setting. It has the responsibility of socialization of children who later take up roles on the other parts of the social subsystem. The deterioration of the family setting will lead to a change in the social settings of the society. It is important for all members of the society to get information on the importance of shunning domestic violence. It is important since it has been observed that majority of the individuals who take part in domestic violence witnessed it during their younger days. All members need to take part in the stopping of domestic violence to witness a breakdown in the social order. It will also assist in reducing the number of individuals in prisons convicted for violence. In conclusion, domestic violence needs to be considered as a social economic concern instead of a private affair confined within the family. It is a domestic issue that should not be ignored. Appropriate action should be taken by all members of the society to ensure that the vice
