assured me that there are academic/scholarly topics out there that do truly interest me. It I also found interesting studies from around the world, proving that my issue is not just an American one—it’s global, thus making it even more important to me. Regarding my motivation and work ethic throughout my process, I’ve been trying as hard as I can to start my work ahead of time, instead of the day before assignments are due. I’ve scheduled in library/common room study time so that I’m not in my room, tempted by snacks and my bed, and I write those times down in my planner and in my phone where I can be reminded. These study times have proven helpful towards my grades in not just Communication, but across the board. The cool thing going on here is that learning about research has improved my overall study habits, which I never thought would happen. From here on out, I hope to continue improving my work ethic and strive to do as well as I can grade-wise. I am pleased with where I am at, but I know that I can do even better. I know that I personally will get a lot out of my research proposal because I’ve already learned so much about both my topic and myself thus far. I look forward to the end of the semester when I can look back and see just how much I’ve grown over the course of a few short months.
