In a world where superheroes are a huge part of our culture, the depictions and portrayals of these characters are extremely important. Inaccuracies are unavoidable in the comic book to movie adaptation, and there will always be people left upset by director’s decisions. It is impossible to please everyone, so directors must make the necessary decisions to be successful intheir filmmaking. Are comic books becoming more obsolete because of the recent popularity in movies? I’m willing to wager that comic books are actually becoming more successful because George9
of their movies. Comics and their movies have a cooperative relationship, each providing something of value to the superhero culture. Movies bring innovation, new ideas, and unity, and comic books remind us why we love the characters in the first place. George10
