We have confident and self-assured lawyers, but very competitive aggressive types and people who are obnoxious are usually screened out during the interview process.” Interview Questions • “When interviewing candidates now for call backs, we ask about the candidate’s knowledge of our firm, globally; our office specifically, the candidate’s global awareness and about them and their experiences to get a sense of their personality, demeanor and outlook.” • “They do not grill; the effort is geared at organic conversation. Substantively, for me they focused on international experience.” • “Questions are mostly focused on behavioral questions. The interviewers don’t use any special techniques, e.g., stress test. Satisfaction • “We work on interesting matters all over the world. Work culture is solid, with great colleagues and no hours requirement to get bonuses. All in all a pretty good deal.” • “My practice is interesting and challenging. It would be good to have more senior partner support in certain areas of my practice.” • “Linklaters offers a very reasonable work-life balance. When I’ve had to bill over 60 hours a week, the firm is quick to add others to those deals to bring utilization closer to 50 hours/ week. The office is very well equipped, and I am able to make it to our gym several times a week, taking advantage of boxing and other free classes provided. Associates and partners are all very friendly with one another.
