Takes the idea of cultural sensitivity & cultural competence further. Recognizes power imbalance & history of colonization Truth & Reconciliation Commission:

Came about as a result of a class-action lawsuit on residential schools against the Canadian government. Resulted in a settlement agreement, affected individuals received money Federal gov’t agreed to 6 years of consultation and hearing witness testimonials. 6000 people shared their stories Directly resulted in many educational and health initiatives that are in place/being developed Class Discussion
