4.1.17 Supervisors Rating on Interpersonal Relationship The following responses describe how the employees view their interpersonal relationship with their supervisor and the contribution to employee productivity. From the following figure it can be seen that 39% of the respondents responded by rating their interpersonal relationship with the supervisor as being good. 22% of the people are on very good terms with their supervisor, whereas another 22% have stated their interpersonal relationship can be described as average. Some of the employees, 11%, ranked their interpersonal relationship as being excellent, whereas 6% of the people think it is poor. Supervisor’s interpersonal relationship contributes to employees’ productivity, in terms of delivering information of job efficiency to the people at the workplace. A full commitment given from both sides can lead to positive results in job performance. 4.1.18 Length of Working period In this study the length of working period was also considered as a factor in employee productivity, presented in the figure. Majority of employees according to themselves have worked with the organisation for a period of 2-5 years, representing 33% of the respondents, followed by 28% of the employees who have worked with the organisation with 5-10 years, 22% of the employees who have worked there for less than six months and 17% of the employees have worked with the organisations for 6months to 2 years. Length of working period considering employee productivity is determined by the person’s ability to perform, including the opportunity, knowledge and willingness. 4.1.19 Fair treatment of rewarding the employees In this research fair treatment of rewarding employees was also considered an important aspect in employee productivity. 37

The figure describes that 39% of the employees said that they agree on the organisation fairly treating and rewarding employees who perform well. 33% of the respondents have a neutral opinion, 17% have said that they disagree with there being fair treatment in the organisation and lastly, 11% of the workers stated that they strongly agree and believe that there is fair reward for employees who perform well. The organisation must determine what factors motivate its employees, by setting up formal and informal structures of rewarding. 4.2 Discussion of the Findings The findings in this study show that all aforementioned factors contribute to employee productivity. Nearly 50% of employees agreed that there exists a strong relation between physical work environment and employee productivity. This shows that the responsibilities of providing an encouraging and comfortable work environment influencing workers to perform their best and work comfortably is the organisations to provide. By having a good environment, the employees could apply their energy and full attention to perform.
