She became friends with them while working at Paraphernalia.  Also in 1969 Betsey got a job offer from a top designer, Alvin Duskin  In 1972 Betsey won the Coty Award She was the youngest designer to ever receive the award After Betsey’s daughter was born Betsey was inspired to design “Betsey Johnson’s Kids” In 1978 Betsey became partners with Chantal Bacon and they started the Betsey Johnson label In 1995 she released her signature perfume  In 1996 she launched Ultra by Betsey Johnson Today there are over 21 Betsey Johnson stores Her designs are also found in major clothing stores

H.U.N.T H- Harness your vision. It says that before Betsey opened her first boutique with her friends she spent a lot  of time Paraphernalia laying out her plans for her first boutique. She knew it probably wasn’t a good idea to  open up her own business without any support so that is probably why she collaborated with her friends. She  started out small with her ideas and took them further and further as they grew.  U- Underestimate the road blocks. There was a point in time between 1978 and 1995 when Betsey stopped
