Within those causes listed in the chapter, the instrumental and efficient cause hold so much weight because both are key components in the justification of the sinner in my opinion. The instrumental cause being baptism and faith which all have to possess in order to be justified because without those two there’s no possibility of anyone being justified. Baptism is required to complete the process of salvation and faith is definitely needed to exhibit genuine love for Christ because it shows the steadfastness and confidence sustained with the works of God.
Furthermore, with faith we must also perform our works that compliments the faith we possess because as stated in chapter 7, “faith without works is dead and of no profit.” Before baptism faith must be established and without hope and charity then faith can’t give that eternal life we all desire to be granted. In Chapter 3, it discusses those who are justified through Christ which are those who were born again in Christ meaning they must elect to complete salvation being that it purifies our soul washing away our sins allowing us to turn over a new leaf in life.
