4 THROMBOCYTOPENIA and are isolated from circulation by the spleen using mononuclear phagocytes. ( Rote & Schwartz, 2014). b. Considering that this patient has a platelet count of 7,000, which signs of bleeding might she manifest if she begins to experience a bleed? Bleeding in the brain, menorrhagia, purpura are also signs of bleeding. ( Izak & Bussel, 2014). c. Should she receive a platelet transfusion? Why or why not? Explain your answer.
