21.Measure for the final image distance. 22.Using the final image distance, solve for the focal length of the diverging lens. Data: Separate lenses Lens Focal Length (cm) Object Distance (cm) Image Distance (cm) Converging 4.535 15 6.5 Diverging -8.4 -3.5 6 dual lenses Lens Focal Length (cm) Object Distance (cm) Image Distance (cm) Converging NA NA Could not see Diverging NA NA Could not see Analysis and Conclusion:
Hinsch 4 In our dual lense with 2 converging lenses we had a percent error of 14.67%. The image should have been at 3 cm past the last lense but when we ran the experiment we saw that the image was at 3.44 cm. I assume that the problem without data was due to the fact that out candle could have slipped out of place, making our numbers wrong. When we calculated the individual focal lengths we saw that they were less than out numbers and so our numbers were wrong due to human error. To see what out diverging lense should have been we created a lone system with just one converging and then one diverging and calculated each separately but when we tried to calculate them together we were unable to as we could not find out image. ### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
