By January 23, after many protests of hundreds and hundreds of students a new chancellor, Martin Meyerson, had succumbed to the students rights, and established provisional rules for political activity on the Berkeley Campus, this was applied to all sorts of political movements and speeches. Many people watching the news at home saw the free speech movement of the Left. Right after the Free Speech Movement has achieved their goals, there was now a bigger and more prominent issue.The Vietnam Day Committee was a major starting point for the anti- Vietnam War movement.
