we encounter on a day to day basis that portray men with abs, a gorgeous smile, sun- kissed skin, and a sultry facial expression, which are the attributes associated with seducing women, making these characteristics more tempting for males to attain. Uncensored images, like those of men, encourage our culture to be this explicit with our sexuality. Since the 90s, male models have been baring all and more recently have been doing so with other models in the picture, appearing to be engaging in sexual activity. These buff men inspire the ordinary man to achieve this look, which according to the advertisement is one that triggers arousal. This causes a controversy because many people do not want this type of message to be mass-produced through ads, but commerce is all about promoting what pleasures our sight and mind, so technically, we are contradicting ourselves. I believe our society is very hypocritical to criticize the objectification of men because it is what we want to see. We complain that ads are too enhanced, airbrushed, and perfected for publication, yet would you rather see overweight, rough-complexioned, imperfect males blown up on a billboard? So, who cares if sexuality is becoming exploited and publicized through naked men? It’s all about selling the image, because selling the image means selling the product. 5

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
