Many women feel forced to think that being skinny and feminine is essential to being happy and in the subject of men, they have magazines and advertisements that contain what the media defines as masculine. “Harry Brod describes the “real man” as being “physically strong, aggressive, and in control of their work.” He also describes them as being powerful and in control and out comes the violent male icons. Katz further explains, “that men have always been aggressive and brutal and that their dominance over women is biologically based.” The video and article happen to be extremely interesting to me because everything that was said, came from a man’s point of view and how the media influences them, I can say truthfully, I never thought my brothers experienced any social pressures.
