My son lives in Dubai so I buy things for him from here and take it there for his use. Q: Who do you come with to Sunday Bazaar? A: Sometimes with husband and sometimes with family. Q: Do you visit any other bazaar other then Sunday Bazaar? A: this is expensive as it is in Defence Q: Do you prefer buying items from here or shopping malls? A: Over here the rest of things are “ kachra ” (junk), I usually buy imported items from here only as I know these are from abroad and are expensive there as compared to here. Q: Do you think the renovation of the Bazaar has made it better or more expensive? A: I think that rates are the same… Q: Do you think the retailers are now more intelligent? A: Yes (“ bhuut teez hain pathan ”)…because now they know that this is imported and this is not.. These utensils I just bought are Japanese and are really expensive in Dubai but the retailer knew its value so he did not give it to me below Rs. 1000 and I had to buy it on their price. A: we know the actual cost and if in the market it is for thousand then over here (Sunday Bazaar) it can be bargained because its an open air market. I would start from 50% that is Rs. 500 and then negotiate with the retailer....
