Comments I was interested in this article as I assumed that increased globalization would negatively impact the environment because of the increased pollutants emitted from more transportation and I was interested in analyzing the results that suggested otherwise. This study relates to EVSP 502, because it tied trade liberalization with technology adoption and discussed the environmental and economic benefits of trade among countries. In addition, it dives into the topics of carbon tax and a cap and trade system, which we learned about this week. Overall, I found the article interesting, especially in that evidence that it provides when concluding that exporters are more likely to innovate and invest in sustainable technology, because as I have mentioned before, I expected the opposite. The article implies a call to action for the increased acceptance of global trade and a reduction in pollutants through an internationally coordinated effort of implicating pollution taxes or a cap and trade program.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
