34. Strict parents might have the reputation of being meanies, but strict parenting does have some advantages. Effective parenting involves setting limits and teaching kids to deal with the consequences that result from their actions. Strict parents know this, and they nurture their child's development with firm consistency. Strict parents set high standards for their children and reinforce the importance of meeting those expectations. Children of strict parents often do achieve academic success because they learn self-discipline, therefore they study more, pay attention and get better grades. These children are likely to finish high school and go on to college. learn values and the ability to make healthy decisions. Strict parents push their children to be better, so they develop confidence in themselves and their abilities. set boundaries and enforce limits, children learn self-control earn to think for themselves, compromise and solve their own problems 35. 36. Most exams taken in school describe how smart we are, or how high or low our reading level is. Some students are treated differently because of low test scores. A big thing that matters in life is achievement. Tests do not show the achievement of students These tests cause many students to become stressed because it is a test that is looked at when applying for college. In addition, when taking standardized tests students are timed. These two factors not only impact a student’s performance but a student’s motivation in school. 40. Beyond achievement, homework can also lead to the development of good study habits and a recognition that learning can occur at home as well as at school. And homework can give parents an opportunity to see what’s going on at school and learn about their child’s academic strengths and weaknesses. Homework can also foster independent learning and responsible character traits – essential skills later in life when students change jobs or learn new skills for advancement at work. Teachers should give out homework because it helps the student better understand the subject that they're studying. observe the student's advantages and disadvantages. give out a reasonable amount of homework so that the student can achieve his or her best.
