For my project I decided to conduct an interview with a college sophomore on their drinking experience. Before I could conduct an interview, I had to clear the bias that I know I would have going into the situation. The person I interviewed had to feel that I wouldn’t judge them or expose them for any actions that were considered illegal. After establishing a trusting relationship with the college student, I was allowed to conduct the following interview. This interview allowed for me to understand the reasoning behind someone’s decision to drink in a college setting and how their perception of the benefits from it differs from someone who looks at drinking as disgusting and irresponsible.

Q. How would you describe the experience you have when drinking? A. I would describe it as a way to relieve myself from the worries of school, my family, and just the overall world. Some days I just need that drink of beer to calm my nerves and allow me to loosen up. Some people see drinking as a problem. I believe that it’s okay if you know your limit and use it as a stress reliever. It doesn’t take much to do that!

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
