This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 2 pages.

Transcription and translation process of protein synthesis are controlled by an enzymes known as polymerases. These enzymes control information inherited by the daughter cell. Polymerases insert certain amino acids in a protein sequence. Any alteration in the polymerases can lead to loss or conveyance of wrong information.

Disorders such as sickle cell anemia results from alteration in the process of protein synthesis. Structural change of HBB gene leads to sickle cell anemia. Its sign and symptom is anemia. It is caused by interference of gene that make haemoglobin-which is a pigment that gives blood its colour. Research has been done and conclusion made that the disorder occurs in the DNA level. Albinism refers to a range of disorder that is caused by reduction or absence of the pigment melanin. Melanocyte cell is responsible for giving skin, hair, and eyes pigmentation. In albinism, the melanocytes cells are present, but genetic mutations interfere with their pigment production. Hence the defect. Huntington disease is an inherited disease that results to degeneration of nerve cells in the brain. The disease usually affects movement, thinking, and psychiatric abilities of the victim. It is caused when mutation results in increased activity or quantity of the gene product.
