For an example because Tony set the example of “rule number one: If someone disrespects you, you send a message so fierce that they won‘t have the chance to do it again.” (pg.33). This state of mind traveled with the other Wes Moore all throughout his life and has gotten him in trouble and more than a couple occasions such as the first time the other Wes Moore was put into handcuffs. This state of mind quickly becomes a tragic flaw for the other Wes Moore as his whole life becomes one that is controlled by his wants and his environment. In result of this environment education became a troubling factor of the other Wes Moore’s future and without it furthered his downfall which in writing is common among protagonist with tragic flaws, lack of knowledge or education. Wes Moore’s Novel The Other Wes Moore depicts the explanation of the tagline “The chilling truth is that his story could have been mine. The tragedy is that my story could have been his.”. In order to define two lives challenged by family, education, and accountability. Without education one is unable to move forward as one may wish to do and can prevent proper judgment.
