Different Activities used in Learning Style- Based InstructionTo answer the Statement of the Problem number 2 of what classroom based activities in Algebra can be developed based on the learning styles of the Grade 10 learners. Learning Style-Based Classroom Activities This study determined the learning style-based classroom activities of Grade 10 learners. The result is shown in Table 3. Arithmetic Sequence Describe patterns using symbols and mathematical expressions Kinesthetic: Manipulation Tools Using colored papers in square and triangular shapes, follow the sequence and identify the pattern. Visual: Target Different Senses Within Lessons The task is to be flashed on the laptop. Ask the group to answer the given questions and explain. Auditory: Discussion Read the task aloud. Know and discuss within group the pattern then answer the given questions. Naturalistic: Learning by Doing Collect rocks and leaves outside the classroom. Arrange the objects according to the pattern given and answer the question Find the next few terms and the nth term of the given sequence Kinesthetic: Skit Create a skit in which the group act out the arithmetic sequence given and find the answer. Visual: Discussion/ Visualizing Written directions are given. Auditory:Target Different Senses Within Lessons Do sets of claps by following a sequence. Naturalistic: Mathematical Treasure - Hunt Look for a small white envelope in the flower box of the classroom. In it is a problem on arithmetic sequence. Insert means between two given terms of an arithmetic sequence Kinesthetic: Task Card/Think-Pair-Share Print on a Task Card the problem. Pair students among the group and solve the problem.Share their answer with the rest of the group
Visual: Video Watching Play downloaded video.Ask the group to solve a problem on arithmetic means. Auditory:Target Different Senses Within Lessons Reading the task aloud and the members will discuss their results and findings. Naturalistic: Exploring Nature/ Practical Work Approach Allow the group to go to Math garden.Have the students study about a problem. Give them time to think and reflect. Find the sum of the first nterms of an arithmetic sequence Kinesthetic: Mathematical Game (Tic-Tac-Toe) The group will play a game called Tic-Tac-Toe. The problems will focus on finding the sum of the first n terms of an arithmetic sequence. Pair the students and encourage them friendly competition. Each pair will be given a Tic-Tac-Toe chart. The first one to link 3 X's or 3 O's by correctly completing questions wins. Visual: Video Playing Play a downloaded video .Ask the group to solve 1 problem on how to find the sum of an arithmetic sequence.
