(BBC News, 2009). 132 children before age of five out of 1000 don’t live (BBC News, 2009). In 2008 8.8 million children died, every third dead child was a victim of hunger, said Ann Veneman, Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund. 65 children out of a thousand die before they reach the age of five (BBC News, 2009). One of the weighty reasons of worldwide inequality is colonialism. Colonialism occurred when foreign powers established political, social, economic, and cultural domination over nations. In simple terms, it is rule by outsiders. The domination of British Empire over much of North America, parts of Africa, and India is an example of colonial domination. The same can be said about France which ruled over Algeria, Tunisia, and other parts of North Africa. By the 1980 th , colonialism began to disappear. Most of the nations that were colonies had achieved political independence and established their own governments. However, most of these nations were still somehow dependent, they cannot develop their own industry and technology because former colonies were not experienced in managerial and technical expertise, and investment capital. Colonial domination created inequality. Developed countries such as British Empire, today’s France, Germany and other countries in the past decided to share the world and were exploiting the wealth from these dependent nations over the centuries. They did not let these nations develop and be economically, socially strong and as a result after they take an independence, former dependent nations realized that they are not enough competitive and strong among experienced industrial countries. First of all, before researching the disparity, I have to know does inequality decrease or increase in recent times. Because there might be new factor that has been having an impact. When I say inequality, I do not mean racial and ethnic inequality, or discrimination. My concept

paper is about global or social inequality – I am interested in distribution of capital in different countries, increase in well-being of misery people, decrease in child mortality. In 18th century in Sweden every third child died, and in 19th century in Germany every second child died. With declining poverty and increasing knowledge and service in the health sector, child mortality around the world is declining very rapidly. In 1960 global child mortality was 19%, in 2017 it decreased to 4% (Max et al, 2013). Despite the fact that it is a significant achievement, it is still a high percentage. Because this 4% means every day 15 000 children die according to UN’s statistics. Since 2014 the war in Yemen has been continuing. While in one part of the world humanity is concerning in achieving insignificant goals and complaining a small thing, in another part of the world people are uncertain to their aliveness next day.
