are hired to push the company forward while putting interests of the shareholders at forefront.
Therefore, the decisions they make must believe in them and be assertive in what they say.
This enables the followers to trust them and work hand in hand with them.
Must be committed and passionate; A leader should be in the fore front in moving the
organization to a much greater height. He should be passionate and dedicated and always be
in the fore front in achieving the organizational goals. This commitment and passion helps
him to be a good leader who is exemplary. Following an approach by Arnold H Glasow, a

good leader takes little more than his share of the blame and little less than his share of the
credit. A leader should be accountable whatever is happening in the organization and should
try to create a sense of responsibility amongst the employees making them to be more
dedicated in their work.
COMPONENTS OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Idealised influence- leaders model the behaviour of their followers and they tend to
behaves in such a way that he or she tends to be emulated and allow them to serve as role
model hence has been looked upon by employees (Bass & Avolio, 1993). Two very important
attribute associated with idealised influence is the personal behaviour of the leader and the
attributed attached to the leader by his own followers. In conclusion leaders with idealised
influence are willing to take up risk, and are known to be demonstrating high standards of
moral and ethical conduct.
Inspirational motivation- a component that characterizes a leader to be inspiring, and
motivating to his followers work, they tend in bringing challenge and at last meaning to work
done by the junior colleagues. The leaders share the vision they have for the organisation
hence motivating their own followers.
Intellectual stimulation –the leader recognises and respect other employees ideas and
creativeness in achieving the organisational goal by bringing their own creativity followers
are encouraged in try out new ideas and approaches, knowing that even if their ideas are
going to differ from the one of their leaders they are not going to be criticized
Individualised consideration-the leader knows what is going on among his employees,
what kind of skill does an individual have in an organisation. The leader delegates work to his
followers as a means of developing a follower skill.

A good leader needs discipline in his profession hence will also inspire others into
being disciplined as well. Hence, this will become part and parcel of his life there by
developing and nurturing the leadership skill in an individual. (Bass & Avolio, 1993).
