areas of education over what is needed for licensure. Specific need education will take place within the place of employment, depending on their needs (Smeby, 2014). Continued Education There are many ways a person can get continued education for emergency services. NREMT lists a link for Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE). CAPCE can help a person find accredited continuing education courses online, live courses, or virtual instructor lead training courses (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, 2019). A person can also attend a college for continued education or further education for higher degrees (Smeby, 2014). The internet is a resource that a person can use to find creditable sources for continued education such as journal articles, classes both on-line and live.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT ACTION PLAN PHASE THREE 7 Conclusion Obtaining certification or licensure is just the first step to working in the emergency services field. Once that certification or license has been achieved a person must continue to learn throughout their career and continue to practice the skills that are taught. The emergency services field knowledge is always changing, whether it be updating old information and techniques or learning new ways to doing things. Continued education is, therefore, a vital component to their career. There are many avenues a person can take to continue their education from job offered education and training, article reading to on-line and college education. The time a person chooses to put in to continuing their education and practice their skills can profoundly make a difference in a victim’s life.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
