Including: newspapers, TV, radio and billboards Can rely on a single communications channel The problem: The task force found insufficient evidence to recommend mass media strategies for physical activity promotion Can be expensive May work for one type of activity outcome but not another 3.Classroom based Health education Programs=The processes through which people learn about personal health concepts and behaviours Characteristics of classroom health education programs: Provide knowledge and skills for healthy decision making Work at the individual level Usually include several components like tobacco use, nutrition, physical activity and focus on reducing chronic disease Teach behavioural skills, but have no added in class physical activity component Have clearly defined health goals Describe age appropriate norms Help students understand their own personal risks The problem: Scientific evidence does not support this method there is no sufficient evidence to prove it works May not be funded accurately Instructor not a role model
