steady do to it is not available when dark or cloudy. Therefore, scientist are trying to find a solution to this. Also they are trying to find ways to still get energy from the Sun even is there is no Sun (Hess, 2017). Finally, the cost of fossil fuels are still cheaper than getting solar panels but

Dependency on Oil 3 if we think about this in the long run. The use of solar power cost is not more than the use of fossil fuels. In addition, another huge advantage of solar power is that once it is set up in your home it requires very little maintenance. Picture Credits: Another form of alternative energy is wind power that will also help with reducing our dependence on oil. Wind power is the process by which wind is used to generate electricity. In recent years it has been the fastest growing power source (Hess, 2017). Each year more countries are using wind power as a form for electricity. In average a running on it’s regular speed, it will power 750 homes. Wind power makes up about three percent of the world’s electricity. Advantages of wind power is that the turbines require small amounts of the lands. In addition,

Dependency on Oil 4 with the wind industry becoming more important more jobs are emerging. According, to the Bureau of Labor Statistics it estimates that wind turbine technicians will be the fastest growing job in the United States with 108% growth rate. On the other hand, some of the disadvantages is that the wind is not constant . We need to start coming up with ideas to help with our dependency of fossil fuel. I think that wind turbines is a great way to help get our needs but most important that we are not hurting our planet Earth. In addition, I like that it does bring jobs to communities that have them. By living in Iowa I have see them each time I go out of town, but never did in come to mind how fast the wind gets here. On average the wind speed in Iowa is 80 miles per hour that is amazing (Wind Energy in Iowa). Picture Credits: Another issue that people are talking about is using renewable fuels. Some of the renewable resources that we are using are ethanol and biodiesel. Both are the main categories of biofuels. Ethanol is the distilled from starch or sugar based from crops, such as corn or

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
