Vulnerable population are groups and communities that are prone for poor health as a result form their experiences from social, economic resources and they are limited due to certain disabilities and illnesses (NCCDH, 2020). I work as a lead teacher and this little girl I know suffered from muscular dystrophy. There were days that she would feel so low about herself, she could not flush the toilet by herself, some days she would just fall. Something that I learned that I had not considered before it that, a disability can target anyone. Everyday she got up and kept trying, she was mastering her disability. Some programs in American are SSI disability checks, food assistance, home health, etc. These are offered to people that need the extra help they might not be receiving it from family members. Some activities that I would develop would be something to make them feel special. A dance, basketball games, a fun day, etc. These are all thing to make someone battling a disability feel important. Some of the barriers that one may face in the ideal of a basketball goal is that they can’t get up and down a court. To override that, they could make cheer, take score. There are ways to doing things if one puts their mind to it. NCCDH. (2020). Vulnerable Populations. Retrieved from.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
