will all be graduated from high school, and I would like to be living back in Hawaii, where I was raised, working as a FNP in a clinic, and part-time as a clinical instructor for a nursing program. Depending on how my body is holding up I would like to keep my clinical skills up by life-flight nursing in Hawaii as there is only 1 level 1 trauma center in the state and with a unique background in trauma/Burn nursing and CVICU I feel I would be well prepared. N4585 Capstonemy interests were helped me to select a capstone project that was centered in clinical practice with a focus on education and improving practice. Key Point 3Self Reflection, starting with the VARK assessment of my own learning style I stopped to assess any changes in my self assessment since starting in the BSN program. I feel that the BSN program has helped to strengthen my skills and give me better tools to use in practice. As I have been an RN for less than 10 years and evidence based practice was already established for me as a nurse, I feel that what I learned the most was the fine tuning of how to best select research articles, and a better understanding of Nursing leadership and management. My personal philosophy hasn’t changed.Module 2: Identify 3 key points form this module. Reflect on how why each point is important, how it impacts on your work experience or nursing practice, and how will you change your practice in the future based on each key area.Key Point 1SMART goals – In the transition to the Professional nurse, we had to make SMART goals Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Measurable, and Timely. Having worked on several unit based projects, we have used SMART goals as our model for our KAIZEN goals, these are skills that are not just used in an academic environment but that are used and transitioned into everyday practice in nursing everyday. With the capstone project being on fall prevention and the implementation of change on the fall scale my two SMART goals will be based on the understandings learned at the end of the presentation, and goals of implementation within a set period of time after the meeting, as policy change takes time, and would be unrealistic for a change in the scale to be met at the end of the presentation, but would likely need 2-4 months after going through a trial on several units for assessment, and then approval by the necessary committees.Key Point 2Research, choosing appropriate research articles, this reflection took me back to nursing research and the assessment of quantitive v. Qualitative research. In reviewing the papers and selection process for nursing research I was able to findthe articles fairly quickly, I initially found approximately 10 articles, which I whittled down using the criteria such as no retrospective studies.
