This city falls within the county of San Bernardino which neighbors the Riverside and Los Angeles counties. This city roughly has a population of 93, 200 as of 2017. This population is 56.6% Hispanic, 34.8% White, and 4.58% African American. The economy of Hesperia employs roughly 33,200 people with the largest industry being Retail Trade at 5,147. Snowfall is almost like a delicacy to the city of Hesperia with an average of 1 inch. Some natural and man- made hazards that pose a threat to the city of Hesperia are earthquakes, dam failure, flooding, severe thunderstorms, technology, terrorism, and fires (natural and man-made). The city has ranked these hazards by priority whether natural or man-made. The city of Hesperia does have issues with flooding and fires. When rain season comes, the city experiences flooding through storm washes, natural drainage routes, drainage easements, and floodways. This is why a dam is part of the man-made hazard. weary of year-round whereas some cities prepare for a fire season at a specific time in the year. Due to the location of Hesperia, fires can occur due to both natural and unnatural reasons.
