7 Case Analysis - Guidelines•The Case Analysis is the capstone project for the course and represents 40% of your grade. The purpose of this assignment is to apply the concepts and tools learned in class while assessing the strategy of a firm of your choice, and to make your own recommendations for the company. •The target firm for the project must be (1) a for-profit business, and (2) a public firm with adequate public presence to allow research OR you must be able to visit the firm personally. •Students in the past have used a paper like this to investigate, gain access to, and show interest in a firm they are targeting for employment (or learn more about the firm where they have been hired). Others have visited a local business. •You will have additional credits if you have interviews with senior managers of the firm. •The paper should be approximately 10-12 pages of text (12-point, Time New Roman, double spaced, 1-inch margins) PLUS any relevant exhibits (graphs, charts, tables, etc), a cover page, table of contents, and references. In its final form, the paper should be presented in a format similar to the quality one would expect on the job (e.g. cover page, table of contents, nicely formatted charts, tables, and/or graphs, page numbers, section headings and/or sub headings, etc). •The document should 1)Assess the competitive environment 2)Highlight the resources and capabilities of the firm 3)Describe the firm’s current strategy 4)Discuss the key strategic issues facing the firm •Also, you should conclude with a few recommendationsyou would make if you were a consultant to the firm (see attached for grading rubric). Drawing on course material, you should include supporting arguments for each recommendation. •Due: 5 pm on Wednesday, May 3 oEmail to [email protected] with a title “J375 Section XXX Final Paper”
