leiszer, A. R., Semenic, S. E., Ritchie, J. A., Richer, M., & Denis, J. (2016). Nursing unit leaders' influence on the long-term sustainability of evidence-based practice improvements. Journal of Nursing Management , 24 (3), 309-318. doi:10.1111/jonm.12320 We all know the geriatric population will increase and implementing best practices for this population is a must. I appreciate you mentioning the link between fall prevention and exercise. Enhancing mobility in the older adult can ensure independence and contribute to a healthy lifestyle. The obvious benefits include improved muscle tone, strength and cardiovascular health. These factors increase the probability of an older adult to provide self-care and other independent living activities. All of this ultimately supports fall prevention. Interestingly, older adults who are active also have healthier minds. Both mobility and brain health deteriorate with age. However, a 12-month study of older adults with improved mobility on an exercise program showed a direct link to brain health. Specifically, maintenance in brain volume related to motor control (Nagamatsu, et al, 2016). Nagamatsu, L. S., Weinstein, A. M., Erickson, K. I., Fanning, J., Awick, E. A., Kramer, A. F., & McAuley, E. (2016). Exercise mode moderates the relationship between mobility and basal ganglia volume in healthy older adults. Journal of the American Geriatrics Society , 64 (1), 102- 108. doi:10.1111/jgs.13882

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
