4. Which alternative sanction do you think is best? Why? It’s hard to say which one is best, but I really agree with the community service sanction. It’s good that people are putting prisoners to work and I’m sure they actually make great workers. They have nothing better to do than better themselves and I’m sure it’s great to get away from prison for a bit. It also gives them something to do.

5. If you had to reform the system of punishments and corrections, what would you do? Why? I would do something about preventing people from becoming criminals. I believe for most criminals the root of their issues lies with their childhood. If people could create more programs and actually get kids engaged with them, less of them would end up having such a bitter outlook on the world. I would come up with programs for kids in bad neighborhoods to give them more hobbies other than getting in trouble. I would create other programs for kids without parents or with single parents to make sure they didn’t fall down the wrong path either. I guarantee a big percentage of prisoners have a broken childhood and somewhere along the line felt like they had nothing left to do but get into trouble. This can be prevented if more people just paid attention to these kids.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
