were on the right path. They communicated selfless acts in their daily  functions as a police officer. The most typical response was to disregard  personal safety in pursuit of the job. However, many talked about  encountering a homeless person and giving a meal or money to help that  individual. All participants worked on holidays and missed family events  often because police work requires them to be available for duty.
