I apply the leadership quality of Advocacy within the interdisciplinary team, by reporting signs and symptoms and ensuring follow up care is implemented by the team member, ensure that advocated task is completed accurately and effectively, respecting rights to privacy and educating. H2. Identify and discuss how your work environment impacts the following. My work environment impacts Nursing Leadership by encouraging us nurses to be a leader. They promote us delegating task effectively and promote educating the UAP. My facility also requires nurses to do peer chart audits and peer evaluations, then educate and document monthly success. My facility is also working on becoming a magnet facility and encourages us nurses to encourage teamwork and attend monthly meetings on making the facility better in every way possible. My work environment supports nurse decision making by developing protocols to follow. For example, if a patient is hypoglycemic and showing signs and symptoms according to the nurse, we then independently initiate the protocol. These steps are followed when the nurse views lab values and or have a symptomatic patient such as signs of infection. My facility also supports decision making, by allowing the nurse to discipline other staff members independently based on not following policies and procedures, and protecting patients, taking charge of the unit and educating other staff members.

Professional Roles and Values – C304: Task 1 My work environment supports nurse Professional development in many ways. Nurse Professional Development is supported, by the facility paying for continuing education after one year of employment, providing a school attached to the hospital campus for advanced nursing and a school of medicine. My facility also developed a clinical ladder program called “The Plan”, which allows all nurse clinicians to take specific steps to advance to a charge nurse, a nurse educator, a nurse preceptor, or administration nurse without applying. Nurse also can move within any affiliated facility after 6 months in the position. Every nurse in my
