Type of Research Project The possible type of research project to follow would be the applied research. Applied research is focused towards solving practical problems faced by human beings in these modern days. The problem in this context world is the existent male-female wage gap. The research would be able to answer and possibly solve a few of the problems associated with gender wage inequalities. The main purpose of applied research is to enhance and improve the living conditions of individuals globally. I feel this would be the best way to go about answering the question of the gender wage inequalities in both the industrialized and developing countries. The wage gap between male and female is a societal problem (Olivetti & Petrongolo, 2017). It needs immediate attention, and because applied research helps in solving societal problems, it would be the most appropriate research type to follow. Applied research can be applied to all types of issues faced by society and the world at large. The problem which the applied research would, therefore, need to answer and find

WOMEN AND THE AGE GAP 9 immediate and lasting solutions to is the issue of gender wage gap. The male-female wage gap is a problem perceived to have many consequential outcomes to the modern day woman. No matter how much the women struggle to climb up the corporate ladder and break the highest level of the glass ceiling, they are still some setbacks. The greatest glass ceiling which would have been the best case scenario for all women globally would have been the ascent of Hillary Clinton into a presidential post. Her getting the American presidency would have demystified all stereotypical allegations of women not making it in the world of politics. Despite her inability to break the greatest glass ceiling in America, there are many industrialized countries like Germany which have witnessed the importance of a female chancellor. Having women at the same corporate level as women would help in fighting against the wage gap inequalities which still persists on. Applied research would have the capability to receive funding from related organizations in order to further gain insight into the global issue of women and the inequalities that bar them from earning as much and equal wages as males do. A few may have been in support of women earning equal pay for them. Majority of them, however, have stood their ground and refuse to help women in their quest of finding justice in terms of the wages they earn. The issues of gender and equal pay are issues which seemingly continue to persist on. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 was established in the U.S in order to help mitigate against the wage inequalities among the female workers. Despite the efforts of this Act, more still need to be done in order to relatively narrow the wage gap in the U.S history (Lundborg, Plug & Rasmussen, 2017). Therefore, applied research would be quite effective and most appropriate in answering the problems inexistent in terms of the gender issues and the wage gap in industrialized countries.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
