High Operational Cost Because of Disney’s many ventures, they have high operational cost. It will be hard to cut back on such high operational cost, especially when the company is doing well. Disney needs to research movies better. Ex: John Carter- Research would have shown that the movie probably would not have done well because it has a very similar story line to many sci-fi flicks. News Corp. Problem Solution Change to Digital Media News Corp. will not be able to compete at a global scale without incorporating digital media into their fold. News Corps. As Google does, allow employees to designate 10% of their work time to develop their own ideas. Employees will be encouraged to give their suggestions about new innovations to the company Great suggestions will improve company as a whole Decline in Print Media One of News Corp’s. Major assets are its newspapers. Their top newspaper in the U.S. is the New York Post, but there has been a decline in readership. Time Warner Cable Apps Time Warner let’s customers with a Time Warner cable subscription watch shows on mobile phones, tablets & computers Currently there are only a small number of television shows, customers are allowed to watch Increase the number of channels consumers are able to watch on their phones and iPads. This will increase customer satisfaction & loyalty. Digital Media Time Warner is faced with the task of conforming to the consumer demand of digital media in order to meet consumer needs Time Warner should keep investing in new digital technology. Time Warner should continue the program where they give $20,000 stipends for research in digital media. This will give the company more analysis on the trends of digital media and will help them capitalized the consumer market enthralled with digital media. Rising Cost of Cable Television As the U.S. economy struggles, the cost of cable television is rising. Consumers are finding it hard to pay for housing, food, and other necessities while paying for television. Time Warner should lower the price of cable television. As of now, you pay $35.00 for cable for the first 12 months and after the 12-month period, the price increases.
