Discussion: This lab was difficult for me because it was based on color interpretation and I am red-green colorblind. My partner had to finish a flow chart before the lab, so I had nobody to depend on when it came to a confirmation of what colors were which. Sources of error included: 1. Incomplete reactions. One of the solutions, KBr, produced a grey precipate long after the results of mixing it into AgNo 3 and NH 3 were recorded. I was lucky enough to double check all the solutions after finishing the lab, which was when I realized that instead of a tinted-green cloud,

there remained a grey precipitate in the well. If I hadn’t noticed the later-formed reaction, I would’ve recorded an incomplete reaction, which would’ve affected my results. Suggested improvement: Have an alarm set to twenty minutes at the beginning of the lab. After about twenty minutes, the alarm will ring and cause a commotion. Announce to the whole class to check their well of KBr in the AgNo 3 and NH 3 well. They will notice the change in the well and not have their results been incomplete, which would hinder their lab progress. 2. Contamination. In this lab there were many source of contamination. The caps on each dropper bottle were the same color and were no different from one another, making it easy to put the wrong cap on the wrong bottle. The well plates were dirty and wet from the previous users poorly cleaning the wells. The sticks used to stir the solutions in the wells came in only a few
