main leader of the company and his ability to remember and retain the historical information of the company. Whether the information is fact based, statistics, or general company events or behaviors that occurred, it is important for the CEO to constantly refer back to that knowledge and history. This is particularly important because if a leader does not continue to remember the mistakes or failures of the past, then the company or in this case the leader will fail to succeed in the future. There would be no changes in past mistakes, and no improvements, which would lead the company to move down in the competitive market, as well as decline overall in growth or sales. The company adheres to Machiavelli’s teachings because based on the recent actions of the company, the leader has learned that in order for them to improve, they must improve and advance their technology. Based on their past, they do not do as well in the technological aspect of their company, and by integrating more automation technology, they were able to improve and grow sales. The CEO of the company also took into the consideration the history of other companies, and by doing so, he was able to utilize this knowledge to implement the improvements that Kohl’s needed in order for it to continue as a viable competitor in the retail market. Like the quote mentioned, it is essential to remember the history, and utilize this to become a good leader for a company. Kohl’s CEO does well in utilizing past information to learn and grow the company after analyzing past failures.
