2.2 HRM practicesTraining and DevelopmentThe first IHRM practices is the training and development which is their keyessential management skill for MNE to gain competitive advantages in the globalautomotive market. MNE need to establish an international human resources team andtrain the expatriates effectively in host-country national (HCN) and third-countrynationals (TCN). The IHRM team should always prepare higher quality of trainingprograms for the employees to help the expatriate’s performance to accomplish MNE’sobjectives (Thitiya Klobsanthia & Saichon Pinmanee 2018). The IHRM have theresponsibilities conduct the training programs which must concentrate environmentalfactors and IHRM policies and practices. The training always composed in the form ofplanning, employment, recruitment, training and evaluation of employees forinternational operations (Thitiya Klobsanthia & Saichon Pinmanee 2018). Besides that,the coaches, managerial role and organisations must understand the international trainingand development clearly as it reveals the training and development on IHRM practices incountries.Tesla human resource have provide cross-cultural training which can help all theemployee that are sent to overseas can handle the culture in Tesla (Meyer 2018). Teslaalso have created innovative organizational culture and empowers the employee to searchfor ideal solutions that make the business outstanding in the automobile industry and theenergy generation and storage industry (Meyer 2018). The company encouragesemployees to innovate to support continuous improvement of the business. Thisinnovative environment has help the organization to shape the Tesla workers’ behaviorsand attitude. Through the organizational culture, Tesla Inc.’s management optimizes
employees to achieve creative and innovative behaviors. These behaviors are essential tomaintaining the technological innovation that forms part of the company’s foundation.Furthermore, Tesla officially introduced the Tesla START training program whichhaving 12 week training program that guarantee the students to learn technical skills andnecessary knowledge where they can fulfil the requirement in a best way to join withTesla. Student that join this training program can earn income from Tesla, all they need todo is just need to attend the classes. The student that will guaranteed a job position atTesla after graduation if the student can get an excellent grades which is 80 percent andabove. Although Tesla receives a heavy load of resumes a year, they still face someunique hiring challenges. Since the electric car manufacturing process is very unique anddiffers from traditional auto manufacturing, so that Tesla must be innovative andproactive in the way they train and recruit employees (Thitiya Klobsanthia & SaichonPinmanee 2018).
