COMPREHENSIVE LEARNING ASSESSMENT 5 not only have common characteristics; they can also be incorporated in each other and fit just well. ERP is responsible for managing the core processes of the business in real time, through the use of technology software. It tracks the resources and information from the internal and external business processes, including information, materials, suppliers, profit, production capacity, customer orders and salaries of the employees (Almajali, 2016). It is very challenging for managers to effectively sustain a cross-functional business organization, and therefore EPR is a very essential took because it facilitates this process. There are many external and internal resources in the business for management and control, and without ERP, the process is almost impossible (Al-Mashari et al., 2003) . The ERP system is used in every department of the organization, allowing them to share information between them in real time, such as financial data, HR data and projects data. The main importance of this technology is that it enhances the efficiency of the business processes, leading to increase in productivity. It is also useful in detecting problems quickly. For instance, the employees are able to detect is issue in any part of the business process as soon as it happens, enabling them to resolve it before it causes no harm to the organization. It is clear that ERP has revolutionized the competitiveness strategy of companies by streamlining business processes so that instead of focusing on day-to-day operations, they use accurate data to make informed decisions (Almajali, 2016). Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Process Continuity (BPC) The two processes are very much related because the primary mission of both DR and BPC is to prepare the organization for the unforeseen risks. The only difference between the two is that DR tends to be more reactive, in that it is comprised of a specific procedure for the resumption of operations by the business after a disaster. On the other hand, BPC is proactive. It is generally concerned with the safe practices of an organization, to make sure that the important processes can resume after a catastrophe (Boehmer, Brandt & Groote, 2009) .
