Together, Damon and Affleck wrote the screenplay. The writing stomps nonbelievers who thought that the actors’ inexperience would take away from the movie’s quality. With a moving lakeside monologue from Maguire and a fiery argument between Hunting and his newly acquired girlfriend Skyler, a Harvard grad student—the dialogue is impressively powerful. Maguire tells Hunting that he doesn’t “know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself.” The line reveals the professor’s somber side, shifting the mood of the story at this moment. Overall, individual roles also help the film out. Williams as Maguire is enacted so naturally it seems as though he could be a certified therapist outside of his acting job. This is surely among his best roles, in line with his performance in The Fisher King . Damon’s acting as leading actor may not reach the success of William’s supporting role but it is still worthy of praise. Although his assertive parts may seem over the top at points, his skill shines most while verbally abusing a Harvard know-it-all grad student coolly. Minnie Driver playing as Skyler

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
