The council will meet monthly to explore and present idea(s) and solicit solutions from their peers to develop a best practice initiative. Once identified and ready for review and implementation the governance will present the guidelines to the Unit Director, Manager, and Nurse Educators to discuss the implementation and roll out the required training to the rest of the required staff. This will ensure that all staff that needs to be involved has the proper training and knowledge to adopt and abide by the new process. Collaboration and expected outcomes will be communicated to the frontline staff. After all training has been developed and provided, implementation and monitoring can begin. HCAHPS metrics will be monitored pre and post implementation quarterly to determine effectiveness. The results will be discussed with the staff to see how their adoption and implementation of the new process has affected HCAHPS and employee engagement. When staff realize that they can be involved in the decision making and have a direct positive effect on the outcome chances are they will continue to be engaged as well as encourage their peers to participate as well as take ownership and accountability for their actions. E1. Leadership Best Practices Leadership best practices that improve employee engagement include creating an environment that encourages employees to be high performers and develop a connection to the organization that they work in. Highly engaged employees move the organization forward by driving innovation. Highly engaged employees show a commitment to the organization and have a vested interest in its success.
