The effect mostly causes the risks that technology and knowledge have on nature. ‘Manufactured risks' are evident because of the adverse impact that they have on the environment and the health of human beings. They are characterized by increasing use of non-biodegradable materials which are mainly plastics. The primary contrast of plastic waste is that at micro-level its functions are dormant, but at macro-level its features are active. Capitalism has led to an increased production and irresponsible disposing of plastic waste materials. Consequently, the marine life and humans are negatively affected. Based on a study by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, it is expected that by the year 2050, most oceans will contain more plastic that fish. This is an indicator of the high rate of production of plastic wastes into the water bodies. Currently, more than 150 million tons of plastic materials float in the oceans. It is
