Gwendolyn Brooks' poetry was entirely instrumental in imparting a sense of belonging and pride in the culture of the African-American community ( Nash, 2017) . There is also a consistent repetition of themes, subjects, and styles in most of his work. Some of the most recurring topics are love and racial injustices. They appear dominantly in almost all her work. All the sources of Gwendolyn Brooks’ poems used in this paper have love and racial prejudice as some of their major themes.
