Listening to the two ladies from Mexico and the Philippians talk about how people look at them
and how they are not accepted was hard to listen to. The lady from Mexico said she had no
friends and when she was getting her degree and her professors telling her she was wasting her
time because she was a person with a disability, and no one would hire her was heartbreaking.
When the women from the United States started talking about how people in the United States
still the stereotype of have believing that someone with a disability is incompetent and incapable
of accomplishing, I was not that surprised. I feel like America thinks as itself as the best, but we
continue to have this major stereotype toward people with a disability. Overall, I really enjoyed
this video and learned a lot.
Why is it important to recognize and promote disability culture?
