and can be used very efficiently. When it comes to electronic messages and digital communication, there are advantagesand disadvantages. Businesses all around are using digital communication within the workplace. One advantage of digital communication is it improves communication. Companies use differentways to get their employees to interact and communicate with one another while at work. For example, if each employee has a company cell phone, they can send each other textsregarding work. Another advantage of digital communication is it saves time. If one has to leavethe office to go to a meeting, they can continue to communicate with their co-workers via a cellphone or tablet and get things done instead of having to come back to the office after the meetingand cramming in things. On the other hand, a disadvantage of digital communication is it can cause a distraction, especially if using social media sites. Social media can become very distracting as one isscrolling through looking at pictures, their news feed, etc. They can spend an hour on there andnot even realize it. Another disadvantage is it can make employees lazy. Technology is so easy touse and it does a lot of things for us. For example, instead of an employee using their brain andfiguring out a mathematical calculation for work, they can simply type it in the computer, such asExcel, and it does the problem for you. When it comes tobusiness presentations, there are some factors that one should consider. One factor is being informative. The presenter should give as much information aspossible on their topic so the audience can fully understand. It is important though if thepresenter is using presentation software such as PowerPoint not to overload their slides with anabundance of information. When this happens the listeners/audience tends to disengage becausetoo much information is being thrown at them at one time. Good presentations leave the audiencewith new information that is eye-opening (Marcel, 2015). Secondly, the presenter needs to make sure the presentation is visually appealing. As thepresenter, you should try to incorporate using some sort of visual prop while presenting. Thiswill keep the audience engaged and give them something to look at while you are presenting. Ifusing presentation software such as PowerPoint, make sure to incorporate graphs, pictures, etc;make your presentation interesting. One thing that stands out when presenting is body language.
