resources were used much less. When society started developing the use of technology and machinery many individuals and companies started to destroy the earth’s natural resources. In the western industrial revolution in the 18 th and 19 th century individuals realized the vast potential of fossil fuels (Berg & Hager, 2009). It was soon realized that the technology society had developed could not sustain the needs of all individuals and people started to look for alternative means of technology and resources that would provide more power to operate and build facilities for them. It took society till the 21 st century to realize that society was heading down this spiral path of destruction and if it did not start preserving what is left of the resources, there may not be any for the future. So in terms of patterns of human interactions with the environment, individuals have been riding this amazing rollercoaster over and over without any concerns and have started to realize it needs some maintenance (Berg & Hager, 2009). Unfortunately too many humans have a western worldview and this is causing huge issues on the sustainability of the Earth. In today’s society there is so much emphasis on gluttony and excess waste that it has become impossible for the Earth to replenish its natural resources. If society does not start compromising and adopting a deeper ecology mentality, then society will use everything up, and it will be no one’s fault but their own. People of today need to look at how they can make a difference in supporting our natural resources and become more like the ecology world viewers. People need to understand that all life forms have a right to exist on the
